I gav ethis a 5. Fooey on the "it's pink not purple" people - if they read te title they would have seen that your focus was the berry. And even if it wasnt, I would consider the restof the plant to be a shade of purple - definitley not worthy of a DNMC vote. The layout seems a bit busy and cluttered. A differetn angle may have freed up some negative space between the stems. The sharpness seems a bit off as well. And to gaurantee a black background whenever you shoot just carry around a $30 piece of black velvet - works every time.

Nice picture. I think the biggest problem is the noise on this. Takes away from the softness of the shot. ISO at 1600 will do that to you.

I gave this a 6 in challenge. Nice high key work but the upper corner might be a bit too much. The Soft detail and colors on the flower are very nice. A slightly tighter crop on the left may have helped. Not a bad shotoverall, just probably not abstract enough for the challenge.

Hey Deb. I gave this a 5 in the challenge. I felt it met the challenge and was ok but against somepretty heavy duty competition. I think maybe a slightly different layout without the yellow flowers could have helped. Colors are nice and the detail on the center flower is sharp, but overall a big lack of WOW. Black velvet is pretty sweet for backgrounds though isnt it?
