Hello from the Critique Club!

Well I really like this photo. It's kind of trippy, and I am immediately drawn into the subject.

I would like to see some more details on the people though, just have them nice and crisp with the rest remained blurred towards them.

This kind of experiment is great, I love when people try out techniques different from most of the others.

Good job.

Hello from the Critique Club!

First of all, this is an interesting, candid shot. It does however, have a snapshotish quality to it that seems a little bland to me.

This image would benefit from being more sharp, as well as having the colours more vivid. The details of the feathers are lost on the bird, he would be much more interesting if you could see all the little feathers on him. The cage is very distracting, but may have not been an option to remove it. If that's the case it's very unfortunate because it would be a much better image without it.

The photo has a certain charm to it and is amusing. It generates a response from the viewer, so it is a successful shot.

Hello from the Critique Club!

Well first of all, it's nice to see something risky than the usual 'safe' entries people usually enter. Taking the chance of a low score with something a little different is good, and you recieved a reasonable score this time, so congrats.

This image is neat, just not everyone's taste. I don't really know what to say that could help since you've most likely intended for it to turn out this way.

I would've liked perhaps that the two main people were in better focus while keeping the lively movements of the background characters, but that is a choice entirely up to you. I like how the image gives off a sense of movement and energy.

All in all this is quite an interesting shot and if you're happy with it than you've done your job. Keep experimenting!

Hello from the Critique Club!

As soon as I saw this image I thought of Neopolitan ice cream, the colours just say that to me.

This shot is technically sufficient, but it just doesn't seem that interesting to me. I like the choice of a dark background, but to really say Automn, I think the colours should be slightly warmer, they seem just a bit too neutral to me. The glow is nice, but some of the holder is a bit blown out in spots on the rim, it's distracting. Also on the background in the right hand corner the surface is showing whereas it's not in any other place, so that too is somewhat distracting.

All in all, this is a good image, and I'm glad it's selling well for you. :)

Hello from the critique club!

First of all, this is a really good image. I like how the man-made buildings are reflecting the beauty of nature, it's almost ironic really, that nature is shining through the objects that have been built up to block it out.

The golden colours are really nice, they complement the blues of the sky fantastically. The building in between is well framed by the others reflecting the sky, without that in there this would be a boring shot.

The only thing I can think of that might improve this would be the angle of the outer bulidings, particuarly the one to my right. The angle seems just a bit wonky, I would like it straight to complement the rigid and geometrically perfect shapes of the buildings. That would probably be terribly hard to do though, but a small crop off the top could help.

All in all this is a lovely image, you should be proud of it. :)

Hello from the critique club!

Overall, I think that this is a pretty good image. I like the branch framing the shot and how it goes down into the image, so as to not just appear stuck there in the way, it becomes part of the composition.

This images seems a little dark to me though, enough so that small and interesting details are lost. I think some lightening would give this more depth and visual interest. I'd like to see this in colour, since all the similar tones can get a little smallowed up with this in B & W.

The clouds turned out quite lovely; they add softness to the harder edges around them.

This is a good image, I just think that a little extra editing would make it great. :)

Hello from the critique club.

What I really like about this image is the sense of balance and symmetry that's here. It's busy, but at the same time all the elements work together. I like the strong lines, and then angle that this was shot from. I especially like the shadow on the wall, it just brings everything together.

I think though, that this might benefit from being a little more sharp & crisp, it would give it extra "pop". I'd also like to see the colours more vivid, particularly the red.

All in all, this is a very unique and memorable image. Good job. :)
