On this type of photo I prefer a wider DOF so I can enjoy more of the sunflowers in all of their detail. It is still a very enjoyable photo with nice colors and good framing.

The only thing that really disturbs me about this photo is the fact that I can't seem to think of this kind of stuff :-) So far this is the best I have seen for taking something mundane and making it extraordinary. Great contrast, both in tones and in the graphic elements of the sharp edges of the tongs of the fork and the curves of the shadow or cutout (?) It's simple and classic and almost humerous because it is a fork.

Nice texture and color. I find the composition to be a little ordinary. A more interesting angle would work better for me. The nothing really wrong with it it's just feels a little to safe to me. I hope that makes sense. I really like the shallow DOF.

Excellent composition and texture. It appears about .5 stop underexposed to me as well as just a bt undersaturated. Pretty small nitpicks for a very good image. I'm really glad you angled it and cropped it tight. Very nice work.

Size DOES matter

I think this is very close to nailing the theme. Cropping is excellent, black and white to focus on the tones was a great choice and compositionally it is very strong. An excellent study in design.
