Tulips in the Sunby TerryGeeComment: Greetings from the Critique Club
Hi TerryGee,
Beautiful photo, well lit and composed... nicely done. I think this would have been better as said below with a few different photos instead of just flipping one. Also the colors aren't the same for the two. To finish up the product I might have suggested the same size border around the entire thing in red. I just find the entire thing to be rather boring, and lacking any kind of a storyline... it doesn't really say much, except that you could flip the picture. Very nice colors, there's just something lacking for the entry. I also can't say that I care for the two different sizes... it just isn't attractive to my eye though I'm a very symmetrical person. The picture in itself though is very pretty, and well done.

O Canadaby JackoComment: Greetings from the critique club
Jacko...
Simple yet effective... it works well, good job with the lighting (flash) not getting any harsh shadows or else taking those out in photoshop. Personally I don't care much for the Labatt blue, I mean... if I had tasted it ever that is 19 in America doesn't get you very far with beer. Hehehe... well it's not supposed to anyway. It fits the challenge, yet I can't say it's extremely stimulating, though judging by your comments you got more than one person to smile. :-) I like how you put the entire thing together, with the two reds on the outside and the blue on the inside, I might have chosen a slightly different font though. Might have been fun to shake the bottles, then pop the top off, set them down quickly and take the picture, just an idea, though I know that might be a waste of good beer. Hehehe... a one pixel border between the white and the red of possibly blue might have been nice to tie in the other colors in some of the bottles, also matching the outside red with the red of the bottles might have worked better. Overall a very simply composed, nice looking outcome for a triptych. Good job with that!

P.S. Drink up and enjoy, but I'd put them in the freezer first |

Fragileby stephanComment: Interesting concept... nicely done. What did you make the heart out of? I like the way they come together near the top of the heart instead of right in the middle. Good job with the lighting. |

Blue Towerby SonifoComment: I find this to be very beautiufl, very nice job with your lighting, awesome effect with the marbles and the stem inside the glass... Cool perspective, overall a very nice job, what is the white in the bottom middle though? -9- |

Crackled Glass Flagsby SwashbucklerComment: Interesting what you went for here, but it's not as clear as nice as I think it should be, one of the probleems with shooting through glass... it can be very hard with lighting and everything... the whole thing looks a little muted. good idea though. |

Firmly footedby drydocComment: Greetings from the critique club... as I said before I felt this photo was washed out and could have used a better point of interest. I felt that having so much in the photo makes it really busy. I like your use of old and new... thats a good photography trick, it puts things into perspective, also you have some great texture in here. It looks really sunny... did you take this around noon? I would have tried to get it when the sun was shining one way, or if you had a kind of greyish day. Like I said before getting down and making the boot look HUGE would have been pretty cool. The brightness in the upper left hand corner really takes my eyes away from the subject. Good job of everything being sharp, though I think if you got down and used a much lower aperture setting, the blurred background migh look better and take away from the backgroudnd distractions... interesting idea though... I would definitely continue working with that shoe as a phtoographic tool. Good luck in your next challenges!

Last Goodbyeby arnitComment: Greetings from the Critique Club
Hi Arnit! I really liked this photo... as I said in my comment down below I gave it a ten. It's artsy, uses your camera's functions well, is very well lit, it shows you know how to use your camera and not just take a snapshot. The black background makes it look very dramatic... Almost dark... to go along with your title of the last goodbye... Excellent use of composition. It REALLY works well here. I also like your choice of borderl... it brings it to a close, and it almost makes me feel like I'm looking in a mirror (weird). That petal that is coming towards us looks 3-d, I feel as though it is reaching out to me. If i didn't know any better I'd try to pick it right out of the photo Your lighting is superb really highlighting the most important parts of the flower. Everything is truly beautiful, and you have a great outcome! Nice job... and good luck in your future entries. |
