I like this shot very much, but I think this may have worked better with just a little bit more depth of field - maybe enough so that more of the blade and perhaps the chunk of apple was in focus with the rest blurred. As it is, it looks more out of focus than anything else beacuse the tip of the knife is not prominent enough to stand by itself as the focus of the image. I like the composition though.

This is a really terrific shot - I can't wait for it to snow so that I can try something along these lines (I have a new macro lens I am dying to make use of). The background is terrific.

Great idea. My only criticism is that the blade of the knife is practically invisible with the lighting coming from the rear, and that would have made the image for me. But I like the smoke and the concept is great.
