First I took a picture of the empty glass against the blue backround. Then I filled the glass with yellow food colored milk and took a picture of the glass with the yellow milk. I combined the two pictures and cut out the 1/2 blue and 1/2 Yellow glass picture to the size of the original glass. I taped the picture to the glass and then set up the glass against the original blue backround. I then took a picture of the pitcher pouring Yellow liquid into the glass to make it look like it was filling just the yellow half of the glass.

I think this photo is very clever.

An interesting idea, but it's a little too obviously faked.

Lighting is a little harsh, shadows are too prevalent here. Might try to use more fill lighting to reduce the shadows a little. Good color choices.

Neat concept. The flash is a little harsh.

... my only problem with this picture is: who pours orange juice out of a teapot??

Don't like the shadows. Needed more light. Like the concept. 6.

the harsh light from the flash, and the weird design of the teapot used to pour take away from the shot.

Good try but very harsh lighting.

Could have used a softer light (or better placed flash) and the glass set foreward more from the backdrop. Cool idea though.

It´s an interesting shot! I had noticed only some issues with light. Probabilly you had used the internal flash of your camera to do it. Leaving this typical reflexions and geting a bit underexposed picture. Try to use more closed alternative, directable light sources, as table lights or table spots. This allows you to get more light in two or more directions, in some cases eliminating the flash need. Other thing is to remember to bounce or difuse the flash, simply putting a napkin over it.

interesting although the yellow coming from the pot doesn't seem to match the yellow in the cup.
