They're in the shadows, that's true, they're in the black market, and we're always suspicious that they're stealing. Although they always have the light on top of their heads, they remain in the shadows. Of course, title defines this. |

Rusty chances or light outside of the Plato's cave? Here's this human at the centre of it all (to hell with the rule of thirds), trying to know itself, wondering whether Mohammed can help... In the mean time, the look is locked on the wall, but are the eyes open?
Te nosce, if only I could... | Photographer found comment helpful. |

One of the best sports photos, but not only that, it's more than sports, it's about humans, how we waste energy so that we gain more. It reminded me of one passage from Bronowski's the Ascent of Man, when he explains why we humans engage in sports, while animals don't. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 08/27/2007 05:28:03 AM | Mary and jesusby nickdayComment: Not a comment on your photo, but on the culture and history as a hole: do you really believe Jesus was blond?
In fact, this is a comment on your photo, because this photo doesn't try to be symbolic neither metaphorical, it just wants to convey something that it holds as true, but the fact is different. And Jesus is Jesus, not jesus. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

But, I don't know, I don't like the realization. The colours bother me, the yellowish shade it's just...I don't know...hell, I'm going to give you two more points, so you get the second best score from me for this challenge. And, please, consider a better title, this one isn't funny nor interesting, it's just clever, but there's no need to be clever with this wonderful find. Once more, please note, I'm voting and favouring the potential that this image has, not the actual one. I thank you for showing me the potential, for opening my mind and making me write this long comment. |
| 08/26/2007 10:37:53 AM | J'entre-aperçois Jésusby JimToulouseComment: A mastery use of negative space. I think. No, I know. I'm sure this is a mastery use of negative space, you fill the Universe with a small cross there behind all the chaos of life and you place the cross in the light, where it should be.
Not that I believe in these things, but I'm just saying that you've masterly interpreted the notion of sacred that human culture nourishes. |
