this is nice, I like that stream of light.

...the subject must not become a silhouette because of the backlighting. Else a noce emotional shot.

A very good social commentary with this photo. They're in the shadows, that's true, they're in the black market, and we're always suspicious that they're stealing. Although they always have the light on top of their heads, they remain in the shadows. Of course, title defines this.

This is more of a silhouette than backlighting
08/26/2007 08:35:47 PM
I do like this photo. The silhouettes are interesting. I think a tighter crop with less darkness on the left hand side would make this photo very strong.

Here's the catch: the subject must not become a silhouette because of the backlighting.

To dark
08/24/2007 11:25:43 AM
Why so dark one?
08/24/2007 07:23:05 AM
Well this is not a bad photo but just a bit too dark for me. Not the guys, but the surroundings, I could stand them being silhouettes if I could just make out the environment they are in.

DNMC - looks like it went silhouette on you. This is a nice and interesting picture.
08/23/2007 05:42:05 PM
the lighting is such that this image comes out more of a silhouette, though they are backlit...perhaps just a tad more light would have done it.
08/23/2007 04:36:00 PM
backlighitng not sillhouette.
08/23/2007 10:02:37 AM
no silhouettes...remember???
08/23/2007 05:41:17 AM
My first impulse was to think tighter crop.
08/22/2007 08:44:02 PM
It specifically says: subject must not become a silhouette because of the backlighting

08/22/2007 03:11:34 PM

08/22/2007 11:13:47 AM
Someone didn't read the challenge rules - No silhouettes
08/22/2007 10:52:32 AM
Here's the catch: the subject must not become a silhouette because of the backlighting.

I thought no silhouettes but I like it just the same. Hay I didn't know until I read the find print.
08/22/2007 09:25:29 AM
Challenge was for the subject not to become a silhouette.

"Here's the catch: the subject must not become a silhouette because of the backlighting."

You'll hear this a few times...
