Lighting them from below (which is called "monster light" for a reason!) unfortunately counteracts any feelings of love in the image. The light creates dark bags under their eyes and ominous shadows behind them. The dark clothing doesn't help the mood either.

I love the pose, but I wish there was a little more light on her face. Pull her away from the background and use a shallower depth of field would to turn the background into soft tones (and help hide the wrinkles!).

The drop looks great, but I think this idea would have worked better under the Advanced rule set so you could spot edit the chocolate to make it look soft, luscious, and satiny.

I think the ungroomed-ness of the mouse's fur gives off a slightly "diseased" feeling (usually only sick animals don't groom). I think that takes away from what could be an absolutely adorable image. The idea is great and the moment is perfect--the mouse's expression is cute and he seems very possessive of his cheese : )

This is a very beautiful and intriguing image, but without the title, I don't think this conveys the challenge topic as well as I'd prefer. Her expression seems wistful, maybe even borderline indifferent, but not loving or love inspiring. But like I said, I like this image anyway. The light is interesting and I'm a fan of the muted colors.

I think the border is too heavy. It only emphasizes how dark the image is. I'd like to bump up the exposure to bring out a little more detail. I do like how the couple fits so well in the scene.

I love blowing bubbles... well what else is there to do round here?

The centered composition works very well with this. I can't decide on the border though. It does emphasize the black of its eye, but it seems so heavy too.

Food photography is pretty hard to do, but this looks absolutely scrumptious! The shadows and the darker color of the ribbons in the corners creates a natural vignette too.

I love that the background is blurred out enough to make the bird pop, but not too much that the scene is obliterated. The perspective makes the house look like it's the perfect size for the bird, and that reminds me of a scene from a fairytale.
