Fear Of Shadows

Fear Of Shadows
by TUBORG

Comment:
The effect made works well for this shot, instead of degrading the shot, I believe it enhanced its integrity. The phobia is shown very well. Body language is great. Although, I think I see the dark bit of the eye, iris, it would have probably been better if the eyes were looking at the shadows rather than away. I could be wrong though. Very good use on the shadow, well choreographed in my opinion. I know it's hard, but I took a point off for the excessive whiteness on the shadow's bum. Another for not entirely portraying the fear through the eyes. I gave an 8.

Definitely very creative. One of my personal favourites out of all the 100+ pictures for this challenge. I gave you an 8 though. It's not easy to bring fear out through the eyes. To me the look gives more of a surprised vibe rather than fear. So I took half a point off there. Another half off for seeing the cellar tape sticking out of the pins/nails. The one point was taken off because of not entirely showing the fear. As in if you did the same for the body, sticking more pins/nails on the neck and shoulder, I'd certainly given it a 9 or more. Great job though. The composition itself is spot on. I'm hoping you get a ribbon, when I say that I hope I didn't just jinx you.

Oh so you're the one! I remember browsing, not voting for the challenge. I saw this, and I don't mean to be rude or anything, I thought it was rather hilarious! Very daring, I admire that in a person. The cheese-tache tops it all off, so my hat comes off to you for that. Hold on, you got a low 4 for this? Man, voters here are seriously crazy. I would thought this would break a 5. It's a really cute picture. I would have thrown you a definite 6. Such a slutty pose, yet so innocent looking. I meant that as a joke by the way.

I gave this shot a 4. It's a very snap shot like photo. Maybe it's because I'm fine with math. Honestly though, the atmosphere and composition of the shot doesn't provoke phobias really well. The lighting isn't terrific. Although, if you could have removed the other sationary, and gave a darker shade, I personally would have given it a 6 at least.

I was routing you'd get a blue ribbon. It's seriously a fantasic picture. I gave you a 9, now I wonder why on earth didn't I give you a 10. Maybe it's because I've never given anyone a 10. It's flawless, I can't say anything to really to improve the shot. Although, I find it hard to believe someone gave you a 1.

Definitely as the title says. Very grainy and unfocused. I don't mean to criticise, since I'm a horrible photographer. I gave a 3 on this because of the whole quality of the composition. With of course a few points meeting the challenge. I don't think it fits the challenge very well at all. I just can't grasp the concept of it. I applaud for the effort though. The picture is a bit too dark as well. Sorry.

I originally gave this a 6, but compared to the others I gave six, this certainly deserves more than that. I'm attracted to morning mist as well. The silhouette is working so unbelievably well in this shot. The minor ripple in the water, fantastic. Thank goodness it wasn't placid water, I don't think it would be as good. The desolated wintered trees in the background adds a very extra "wow" factor in this shot. So I'm changing this to a 9. It's seriously a good shot. I hope you get a ribbon, I really do, especially because it fits the challenge oh so perfectly.

Too Early for Flash

Comment:
There's a shot in the "Too Late" challenge that has a VERY similar looking dog. If it's the same photographer, your dog is talented and so are you. This photo lacks focus though. There isn't much going on for this shot, look more like a snap shot in the middle of the night, if you don't mind me being blunt. I still thought it was a good shot none the less. There's just something lacking in the composition so I gave this a 6.

I know advance editting isn't allowed, but this shot would have turned out a lot better if just the beer had colour while the rest was desaturated. It's definitely a good effort. I like it although I think you might have over saturated yellow a bit too much. It's that or when you desaturated the yellow the egg yolks doesn't look so great. I gave 6 on this.

I'm scared for you in this shot. I'm afraid of oil, so if that popcorn actually POPS, I'd assume that oil would splatter too. I gave a 7 because there's something lacking in the composition. The contrasts works great with the teflon (I'm assuming) pan. And if you could have taken out your reflection it might have turned out better. I'm not exactly sure though.
