Ah yes, a student's greatest fear. Nice idea but I think your picture is a little to cluttered with objects that have nothing to do with your theme. Maybe cropping in would help to get across your idea.

This is nothing more than a photo of math books on a desk. Sorry, but where's the fear? Remember the challenge, "Photograph something in such a way that it conveys a personal phobia or fear to the viewer. Try to make the viewer feel the emotion of the fear."

This doesn't convey fear, except possibly for someone already afraid of math. With all of those books, it looks like the collection of someone who loves math, so the effect is the opposite of what is intended. As a picture, the lighting is bad, and there is too much unrelated clutter in the background.

I gave this shot a 4. It's a very snap shot like photo. Maybe it's because I'm fine with math. Honestly though, the atmosphere and composition of the shot doesn't provoke phobias really well. The lighting isn't terrific. Although, if you could have removed the other sationary, and gave a darker shade, I personally would have given it a 6 at least.
