Hello from the CC. What a lovely image! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the composition; such a unique take on the flower/ladybug motif. Well deserved score of 6.8!

The good:

The nitpicks:

-Some color separation from the background -> foreground would have made this image pop a little more. Lighter background hues could contrast the foreground and brighten the whole image.

I totally disagree with CNiovacks assessment of this image below. I agree that could be an interesting take on the subject, but disagree that it would “improve” the image. The negative space provides room for the viewer to imagine the vast expanse this subject lives in. The clouds add just the right amount of visual interest. The blue and gold contrasting colors are the chefs kiss! Love this image!

Greetings from the critique club!

I really enjoy the idea of this image. I also enjoy the intimacy of the framing --it gives my eye a visual flow to follow. However, I think the picture lacks the clarity/sharpness that good focus could bring. I like the texture of the two main colors of the flame. While I don't think there is much you can do about it other than trial and error, the shape of the flames could be more balanced --the heavy weight of the yellow flame is overwhelming the shot and not adding much visual interest. I absolutely love the juxtaposition of the two matches; I think you hit that nail on the head.
