Monday's Childby RompyComment: I love the lighting, and the focus is perfect. Pretty model as well. This is an 9 for me. |

Fountain Nymphby JuliBocComment: I wish the focus had been a bit sharper, you definatley stopped the action but neither of the objects seem to be very sharp. |

Swimby freakin_hilariousComment: I would say most voters arent going to like this. However something about this photo appeals to me. It has the old time film effect with it. and I think the noise actually helps it become a stronger image. I'm going to guess this finishes in the low 5 to upper 4's with the voters but my vote is a 7. |

A Red Roseby RobMcGeeComment: The title and the B&W conversion really clash, I think that might hurt you in voting. |

The Bass Playerby MAKComment: I like the lighting technique and the effect, I wish you had brought it up on his face just a bit more. But overall nicely done. I might have left a little more negative space on the left and not had it so centered though. |

Searching for Shooting Starsby jlanoueComment: Greetings from the Crtique club. First let me welcome you to DPC and the addiction. I like the concept of your image and it meets the challenge well. Let me suggest a method that works pretty good for this type of image and it may help your issues that I see with the image. Long exposures and high ISO arent a good mix. I suggest you try shooting this with 200 ISO and go a longer exposure. Close to the end of your exposure put a black card over the card put your kids out in front and have them point, then remotely manually fire a flash for fill effect. I think that would make your image much stronger then what you have. Great idea and a little change to your method and your over the 6 barrier. Good luck in future challenges.

(498973) Hey, to da femmes, view a bust, unachievedby posthumousComment: Greetings from the critique club. First let me tell you that I havent done a CC in a while, so when I logged in and got this, first thing I did was spit soda on the screen, so then I had to clean my screen. You are brave to put something like this in DPC as normally DPC doesnt have a sense of humor. You proved that they do. Based on advanced editing and you chose an expert editing challenge you were really under the gun to try and get the look. You were very creative with the paper and the sketching I'd like to have seen the sketching and the body line up a little better, but thats pretty tough to do. I also see a few places where over sharpening seem to be an issue. Overall given the challenge I think you did well. |
