Take a seat!

Lighting, color, and angle of the composition are fabulous. The line up of adirondack chairs from near to far leads the eye to those two in the backdrop that do indeed invite the viewer to 'take a seat'. Those rich reds of the Adirondacks really pops off of the white walls of the house. The inclusion of the window in the frame is a nice touch because the reflection shows me the greenery that surrounds the outdoors. Taking a seat on this deck promises both relaxation and a nice view of nature to boot.

Wonderfully sharp details in that toy bunny that shows off the knitted pattern nicely. Lighting and details are great. The child's fierce gaze in the background and the thrust forward 'in your face' presentation of the bunny does compliment the title very well. This toy has to be a tough bunny to withstand the rough play that grip around it's neck and shoulder communicates; in other words, that grip is not a cuddle sort but a rough and tumble sort. There have been a few times that I see the toy bunny's expression as one that pleads to the audience 'Help me!" While the toy may be a tough bunny it still seeks relief from the rough handling.

What a great find! Now it is not beside white chickens, but it is near a white laundry basket and some hanging laundry that is white or near white. The faded saturation of the final composition gives this a sense of age; an old photograph where the rich colors have faded with time. In my opinion, this has such great potential (7 and above) if only the main elements were better composed. I get the sense that this was not your property so that you could not go and rearrange the main subjects. However, what could have been done is to move off to the right to take it at an angle where that small tree trunk doesn't cut across the wheelbarrow. Or, if possible, step up to where the small tree is and take the shot from there so it doesn't interrupt the view of the red wheelbarrow. Also a closer zoom could have the red wheelbarrow fill the bottom right corner of the frame while the laundry would stretch across the frame from left to right.

Fabulous details on the inner portions of this flower and the ant climbing around on it. I think the composition would be even stronger had the crop been a square to keep the eye focused on your main subjects and have them fully dominate the frame. The rectangular ratio you have here now has too much negative space that does little for the composition overall.

This photo has great texture on the wood doors. The faded and peeling paint gives a great sense of age and roughness. It complements 'old glory' seen hanging in the window panels. Shame the number isn't higher (say like 1811 or some such) that it would point to a time in American history. The shot is taken off to the side and the angle of the window panels slant off at a diagonal. As I sit here, there are times I like the diagonal for it adds visual interest. At other times, it bothers me that it is not on the straight and level.

Nice find with the red! I like how you made this a study in lines and curves by just having the top half of the wheel stand out against the red wood plank wall. I like the color and the texture you can see in the grain of the unpainted wood and painted wall of the barn. I think it would look even better if you upped the levels just a wee bit on the shadows - just to give a bit more contrast in the dark tones to let it pop more. My other critique is that I think the composition would be more visually stronger if you cropped it such that the arc of the wheel ends in the bottom corners in the composition (almost like a rainbow).

I really like the composition of the elements in the picture! Instead of those ruby red shoes skipping down the yellow brick road it is the road with a symbol that promises shelter (from whatever the weather throws at one). The other thought that crossed my mind is that is Wizard of Oz meets Mary Poppins. Dorothy is in search of signs of whimsical adventure or a way to get home that only Mary's Magical Umbrella can promise by whisking one away to their chosen destination. Now I do have one critique - and that is on the lighting. I wish that the shadows cast were not so deep in tone and as evident. Since this is outdoor the main thing that is key is time of day that the sun is overhead where the shadows would cast a minimum 'footprint' by barely being there OR that you wait for the sun to be partially hidden behind a cloud for a softer shadow or very little one at all. But that of course is up to Mother Nature and she operates on her own schedule much to the joy or annoyance of us photographers;-)

Nice lighting on the bowl of red apples and the spotlight behind that gives off a nice warm halo. I like that it is off center to add a bit more visual interest. I do have one critique and that is on the framing/crop. I think it would be better if you kept in a rectangular crop but I'd shave off more of the bottom to get rid of the legs. Yes, you would lose some of those nice carved details but with the way it is now it looks 'stunted' and chopped. Crop out just above where the legs meet the body of the table makes it more polished and more importantly keeps the eyes attention focused on your main subject which is the red bowl of red apples.

Great close-up and details on this old style typewriter keys. Lighting is great too showing off a good balance in shadows, midtones, and highlights. Good eye to spot this. I like how you found something different and something that normally might be missed as just an everyday object.

Fabulous light and details on this red bowl of raspberries. The overhead view adds interest because not only does it showcase the red terry cloth the bowl rests on but also strengthens the impression that this is the sight I have right before I scoop up some delicious raspberries to taste:-) The only critique I have is that on the laptop the white of the whipped cream is totally blown on (on the PC screen it's not so bad). Ether better balance of light or if this was from PP my suggestion is to pull back on the levels on the highlights so they don't get so washed out.
