Red Desertby theONE77Comment: Desert rose, she blooms.
Across the shifting sands,
she dances like fire.
I love the sense of movement captured from the ripples in the sand to the silky waves of the red cloth. I look at the model and get the sense that she is the Goddess of Fire and the desert is her realm. Interesting....there is another well done piece in the voting that could be the companion piece with a lady with white flowing cloth near the beach. She could be the Goddess of Air to your Fire. In fact, they could be pages in a book about Goddess's of the realms:-) |

The Long Way Homeby SJCarterComment: The journey home is a melody
It rises with the high notes
and dips with the low ones.
Footfalls like beats
on the measure of the road.
The desat processing effectively focuses my attention instantly on the man with the guitar. He is the only element with some color. The road ahead is symbolic I feel for it is not just the physical journey home, but the musical one to attain validation and recognition as a musician. |

Her Eyesby bdshortComment: In her eyes, the light of dawn shines bright
In her eyes, the future is in sight
so long as the mind's eye remains open
to new possibilities and new horizons.
Wonderful, sharp detail in the eyes and the B&W tones are fabulous! What I 'see' when I gaze upon this shot is the eyes of youth focused on the future. |

My eye can break your lens!by pjotre7Comment: "I TOLD you. DON'T take My picture!" as he stared daggers in my direction. I risked his ire, focused on his sharp stare, and took the picture anyway.
Wow, look at that angry gaze! Your processing is great for it brings out the details in the hair, skin tones, and most especially in the eyes. |

Monkby lukaskComment: I alone must walk the inner path.
The tracks to enlightment
lay before me as I meditate in the rain.
It is my train of thought
that carries me forward.
I love the little slice of life you present here that captures a different culture and place. The train tracks can be a symbol for the path traveled in a spiritual trek to enlightenment. I wonder what thoughts travel through this monk's mind as he travels along the train tracks. |

Valley of Deathby darnokComment: Branches stretch to the sky.
Roots radiate out across earth.
I thirst for touch
of my fellow kind.
In sight, but far from reach.
What struck me as interesting in this shot is that the tree in the foreground seems to be reaching out in branch, root, and even the shadow to it tree brethren scattered far apart in the landscape. It makes the scene even more parch and desolate. |

Waitingby Penny LaneComment: "The best things come to those who wait," he thought annoyed as he sat down in a huff. "It's so easy for the big people to tell a little kid that. Waiting takes foooreeevvvver!" he grumpily plopped his head in his hands.
I love the emotion in the face and pose of this little boy that tells a story! |

Solitudeby HawkinsTComment: I stand not alone
in an empty field.
I bend with the wind
offering shade and shelter
to my friend, the rock.
Great B&W processing! To me, the rock and the tree are like old friends/companions sticking together all alone in the vast emptiness of this open field. |

Spring Magicby eye-spyComment: Wafting on a spring breeze
scents of lavender and greens
here the deer do stroll.
I love the greens and purple floral hues - I can smell the spring scents as I stop in my tracks to watching this young deer. What a treat to have seen this! The sight is indeed magical! |

eleanorby missymooComment: Like swans, they dance & twirl in the spotlight.
I picture myself dressed in their white plumage.
Arms extended to the sky and ready to take flight.
I watch and wait in the wings.
What a fortuitous capture! I love how the little girl looks on from offstage. It makes me think of Swan Lake and she is the little cygnet waiting her turn to take flight on stage. |
