Estd 1824. Aged 12 Years in oak casks. Exquisitely smooth.by PurpleFireComment: I think this is a nice product shot and showing the year at the bottom was a nice touch. Some issues with the white and green reflection on the bottle neck which can be cloned out in PS and I would have preferred a little more detail in the dark areas. But I like the overall soft effect you chose. I gave it a 6. |

Aging With Graceby UNTITLEDComment: Thanks for the comment but I assure you I still have some to catch up with your average score and number of challenges entered :). As for this entry, hope you won't take it badly but you've done much much much better stuff than this (you know what I think of some of your work). Gave this a 5 'coz there was nothing really out of whack but neither was there anything that grabbed me. It meets the challenge despite your concern about the shine. Just wished there was something more to stop me in my tracks. It "looks" like you just snapped without thinking. I guess, the question is what did you want to say through this shot? Ok, it's old but ... what else.. Not sure the composition or the angle works either.
Hope that helps - if not, just dump my feedback ;-). |

Aged to Perfectionby alecnormanComment: Expected to see this score higher. I guess only Asians will really connect with this photo and its treatment. Still find it a superb image despite some minor issues. It's like subject and background have merged together to be frozen in time. Even the faded stairs at the back seem to say something like it's an exit of some kind. Adding this to my favourites. |

That old house !!by samanwarComment: Can't believe this didn't do better - I gave it an 8. I still say the orange and angle are what makes this photo. Otherwise, it's just another old barn shot no matter how well executed. |

Austere Splendor of the Dark Ages: Cathedrale of Bayeux (1077 b.c.)by elee3009Comment: Thanks for all the comments. And yes Front Element, it should have read A.D. That's what happens when I submit something at the last minute and just 15mins before a late bedtime :). Didn't mean to make this sound older than it is - don't need to. As for the sky being flat, I didn't really have a choice with the weather being so bad the day I shot this. But in the end, I thought it makes for a simple stark background to contrast nicely with the rich architecture of the cathedrale. Maybe I should have just square cropped it to reduce the sky. The learning continues ... |

Aspen Blueby rasdubComment: Would have liked to see this in a vertical composition. The colours are so neat and almost pure. |
