Expected to see this score higher. I guess only Asians will really connect with this photo and its treatment. Still find it a superb image despite some minor issues. It's like subject and background have merged together to be frozen in time. Even the faded stairs at the back seem to say something like it's an exit of some kind. Adding this to my favourites.

a bit too contrasty for me. I would have liked to see more detail.

Now that one's got some personality! I'd like to hear the story behind this character...

Totally love this - subject and treatment merge together wonderfully. It evokes a lovely nostalgic feel of an era gone by. Bumping up to 8.

Not fond of the yellow tone. I think the photo would be more dramatic in B&W as he is old and this photo does fit the challenge; the background of stone also looks old with interesting textures in it.

WOW, what an odd shot. Reminds me of old shots from the old asian movies my father used to watch. LOL..it's a 9 from me!

This reminds me of one of the old photos you find stuffed away in a box in grandma's attic. Good.

Great shot, composition and lighting, but the tonality kills this for me... Guess I'm a traditionalist...

A nice image, but for me there isn't enough contrast between the subject's face and the stone background. The face gets lost a little. Perhaps having taken the shot from a slightly different angle so that the weathered stone was still in the shot but the face was against the darker background of the steps might have worked?
