I like that the reeds in the foreground are out of focus but you managed to get the focus on the heron. What a lucky shot and great capture. I never seem to be quick enough to catch them when they are taking off.

I would like to see this in black and white with a little stronger contrast to make them stand out a little more from the background.
I can see why it is an oft photographed subject - it is unique and there appears to be a story behind it.

This is beautiful. I think the postprocessing you did for an ethereal look came out very well. My first impression was of an art print. I can easily see this hanging on a wall as it has a very calming and peaceful feeling.

I too love borders and am prone to using them in challenge photos. I know I get scored lower sometimes, but I just like my pics better with the border.
