(Old) Home on the Rangeby ClayaComment: I like this shot in that it really oozes "rural culture". The color distinctly places it in either morning or evening which, to me, adds a sense of calm or laxitude.
I do have to say that I think that the boarder distracts from the image. It's color is close enough to the general color of your image that it gets lost and tends to distract the eye from your subject. |

Former Chicken Coopby posthumousComment: Wow...this really has a horror movie feel to it. I really like the single light source as well as the odd angle that the coop seems to be it. |

Early Springby AnnComment: I'm not a huge "still life" fan but this is a nice shot. You've done a great job of drawing attention to your subject, not only by placement and prominence but in it's subtle difference from the rest of your flowers. Nicely done. |

Old Barnby BpaigeComment: I would normally have said that this image was overexposed but, in this instance, it works well. The image, being so bright, has the feel of infrared but not too surrealistic. While you've lost some detail in the clouds on the left, the detail of the building is nice. |

Abandoned, through my car windowby JaviZComment: What a cool shot. Without looking cheesy, you've really managed to capture the sense of moving in a car while keeping camera shake way down. I'd really like to see more density and color in the sky however. I think that would really have made this an even better shot. |

The Forsakenby trevytrevComment: I've always found that digital B&W just doesn't have the "feel" of film but you've done a wonderful job of getting really close. The density you've achieved is striking. The sky is very dramatic and serves as an interesting backdrop for your subject.
It's a pleasure to judge images like this. Thanks! |

Abandoned into the Wasteland by JaimeVinasComment: Wow...what a great shot. IMHO, a ribbon for sure. There's a lot of drama here in the clouds but also in the perspective that you've chosen for the building. Additionally, your decision to use monochrome was absolutely the right one. I think that color would have detracted from the wonderful textures. Great job! |

Long Waitby tooterComment: This is really an excellent shot. That said, I find the building and the dog competing for my "eye's attention". That is, it seems you have two subjects with no clear indication of where my eye should be drawn.
This is a pretty minor "criticism" however. Bottom line is that this is a really good shot. |

Yellow Cocktailby madrushComment: I like this shot but with the black background your glass is almost completely lost. If you would used a lighter (white or better blue) background I think your glass would really have stood out. |

Bananasby jere2201Comment: Still life's are tough and doing them well is normally about isolating your subject. In this case, putting a uniform color behind the banana's would really have helped. The way it's shot, I find myself distracted by the background and being very aware that this was just shot in a kitchen. |
