Was it legal at the time? Also...what would have to be done to this type of shot under current rules to make it legal?

Thanks

Edit: I just read the rule again. I can't be sure but I think it is the same as it was when I entered this photo.

Artwork: Literal photographic representations of existing works of art (including your own) are not considered acceptable submissions, however creative depictions or interpretations are permissible. This includes, but is not limited to paintings, sculptures, photographs, drawings, computer artwork, computer monitors, and televisions. A literal representation is one which is composed in such a way as to compel the voter to rate only the work of art represented and not the artistic decisions made by the photographer (e.g., lighting, composition, background elements, etc).

Judging by the current rule I just posted it seems that my cat should still pass the test...however, my guess is that it would be a DQ.

As much as you have been posting this shot lately, I think it's worth mentioning that it would very likely NOT be legal under the current rules.

People would be inclined to vote on the photographic qualities of the cat, which makes the picture-of-a-picture concept illegal here. Just adding a hand or other minor element to a picture-of-a-picture is no longer legal.

Some dude named Joey L. actually made a lot of dough explaining his process....and I think the process you developed in "basic" rivals his in "advanced".

No fun??! Consider again please, Tom.

It was a Basic Editing challenge and you have so many people questioning your talent even AFTER you've passed validation?

Consider this a compliment of the highest regard!

I personally congratulate you on your ribbon and encourage you to take all 'questions' as compliments and as opportunities to help others grow in the photography course as you have. Tell all. Then, you'll be a hero. *smile*

Congrats again.
