Hair Raising Moment

im sorry for the critique you recieved by a previous member, that wasnt to proffesional

anyone who looks at your profile can tell you have won your fair share of ribbons, so i am going to take it that you purposly put the red in your photo.

so what i am seeing is the light is bright on the top half and dark on the bottom
it seem almost out of focus,
the facial expression is great, and so is the hair
the white shirt under the red doesnt really work either,
over all, i like it, you didnt crop off the elbos to close, the image is centered and cropped well

improvments: try and get even light throughout, the white shirt kinda take your attetion away

good crop, its definetly colorful,

I would have to say, the flash doesnt help you, shooting at night is for long shutters, the image would be great if it was day time,

so improvements
shoot in the day
try and get in closer to make the action better
the shadow covers up his leg whitch takes from thephoto.
this is a bit harsh of a critique, remember only ask for a critiqu if you really feel you need one, there isnt much ot critique on this image since its nigt

First off i must say this is an amazing photograph

I really enjoy the filter you used to get the texture feeling to it

I really like the moss and the buds, its just great
there is nothing i can see that would improve ths shot maybe if you could make the moss a little greener that may be better but overall i really enjoy this and it should have scored a much higher score

Im not seeing a lot of texture, there is a little bit in the paint and i guess the wires qualify, but thats not what im critiqing,

im unsure how you achieved such a small dof when your lens was at 8.0, hmm, so thats one thing you may want to look at when your taking a photo, is the different leves of DOF and choose the one that fits, here it would have beeen better if the whole image was completly in focus the different colors are nice and the photos is technically fine, the subject you chose is boring, half of this community doesnt know what this probably is,
overall good shot, keep shooting

Judi, first off i must say i have always liked your work, i frequent your profile often

after looking over your photo closely i have came to the conclusion there is nothing i would do to change it or any advice to give that would improve it,
so we are going to look at the things that i like the most

first off, the color is perfect, I love the sky, and the crop, you put more ground and sky, thats great,
another thing i really like is the dirt on the tire, it just show this wasnt just a set up that bike was actually being ridden. there is great formations in the clouds and the textur in the dirt is fine,

you dof is perfect, this is an amazing photo, and im shocked it didnt score higher,
