The Shop Assistantby DjabordjaborComment: The forground/background is sort of busy and the subject gets a little lost. I think this would have mad a better portrait if the subject was looking at the camera. Definately tells a story, though, and is an interesting shot. |

Driving People Crazyby GunnsiComment: from ctp2:
Hey, that's what my title was! GREAT TITLE!! lol. I love the DPC line too. Very clever.
I'm not sure I love the blue duo-tone effect all that much. That's just me, though.
Also, your sujcet looks calm and collected, instead of crazy.
I'm still chuckling over your idea though.. I know dpc drives me crazy sometimes. |

Playing for Jesusby GunnsiComment: from ctp2:
I really liked this shot. It's a beautiful candid - well lit, well composed. Her face could have maybe been a tad sharper. I like the inclusion of the cross in the background, so that you can tell she is playing in church. Personally, I think this should have scored higher, but who knows... |

I'm going to be perfectly honest here, so please don't hold it against me... I didn't like this shot all that much. It was too dark and eerie and maybe a little disturbing looking for my tastes. Maybe that was the effect you were going for, in which case you did a good job Ü. Everyone else seemed to love it, though. Congrats on the top finish!
Technically the composition and lighting are superb, and the subject is interesting, and meets the challenge. It has a very emotional feel to it. The composition is simple and to the point. Well done. Message edited by author 2006-05-18 08:52:46. |

Very cute idea! I especially like the name on the door touch.
The picture is a little dark and grainy, otherwise this is great! |

A Stitch in Time Saves Nineby xianartComment: From CTP2:
To be honest, I didn't entirely 'get' this at first. It's hard to tell what the sliver thing surrounding the nine is, so it's not obvious that it is 'stitching'. Good play on words once I figured it out.
I like the composition of the clock, and the contrast of the red thread with the black and white clock, and the ligthing is dramatic.

St. James arriving to the templeby alexgarciaComment: From CTP2:
I commented during the challenge, but I'll look a little closer Ü.
I like the duotone effect in this. It works well. The subject you picked is good - lots of interest. The statues at the front are sort of growing on me, but maybe if you would have included just a tad more of them, so they didn't look so cut off? And somehow lit them a little more so they weren't quite as dark? I like what you were trying to do, though, and they do give the photo some perspective.
Overall a nice shot. |

C.H.I.C.A.G.O.by DigiFotoBuddyComment: from CTP2:
I like this shot a lot. The colors are nice ( or sort of lack of color, really). Cityscapes are always pretty at night (although I always sort of cringe at how much electricty is being sucked up).
It could be a tad sharper. I'm wondering what it might have looked like with more of the water. I really like the reflctions that are going on there, where as the black sky is sort of blank.
Overall a great picture. |
