Get Well Soon

You entered a photo that has great quality, nice details, composition is good and the colors are nice. The photo does not say "Get Well Soon" to me at all. There is nothing about this photo that would make me want to purchase it as a card for a sick friend. I had a hard time picturing this image as any type of greeting card. Don't get me wrong, the picture is fine, but I just think that this was a bad choice for the challenge. Good luck in future challenges.

P.S. I did not even notice that the birds foot was missing until the challenge was over and I was able to read your comments.

What you chose to enter was a good idea. The rays of light are a beautiful representation of hope. There are a few things that you could have done to this photo to give it some "pep".

I would have straightened the horizon. They way it is now causes the eye to look at the picture at a slant.

Where the light shines through the clouds is a little blown out. I don't know if it was already like this or if you did it. This could be fixed a little with levels. It would be nice to have a little more contrast to give the mountains some "pop" and it would also highlight where the sunlight was touching the ground.

I would have also taken out the lightpole and the fence. Maybe even dodge and burn the clouds to create an impact instead of adjusting the pictures overall contrast.

I hope this was helpful to you. You had a great idea, and I am sure you will have many more. Keep trying and good luck in future challenges.

Let me just start out by saying that I thought this photo was fantastic!

The green grass and the blue sky with the clouds is just beautiful. I think what hurt your entry is the size of it. It is way too small. Small pictures are hard to see and to judge. Because of the small size we are not able to see the details and quality of the picture.

I love the guy in the background! He looks so thrilled. You named the picture well, this would make a great card. I am so sure that if you would have entered a larger version of this picture your score would have been a lot higher. Keep that in mind for your next entry.

Just so you know, I am not the best critiquer! I do the best I can to try to give advice on what I see. This is only my opinion, but I guess you want it because you checked the box. So I will try to give you something that is helpful.

I like the idea of the princess and the frog. I like the diffuse glow too. I think that this image would have been better with a real frog. A Princess wouldn't kiss a valentine figure/toy.

The diffuse glow is nice and it creates a magical feel, but at the same time it causes you to loose a lot of detail. This method worked well on the girls face, but not the frog or her hand. The background is hard to make out but you can tell that there is something there and that is distracting. Overall, I think that this picture is cute and you rec a great score considering all the wonderful entries into this challenge. Good Luck on future challenges and hats off to you for being creative.

caramel macchiatto is my favorite!! I can't have them anymore because I found out I am a diabetic! Nice steam, wish there was a little more contrast and more focus on the hands.
