Your idea is very creative, but it would have been better for me if they looked like they were hanging. For me this looks like you were holding up the flatware and then rotated the picture so they appear to be upside down. The spoon being cropped off is not a appealing composition. I like the green of the tree and the gold ribbon...very nice touch. When photographing something so reflective, you really have to watch for well...reflections! If you WANT reflections, make sure that it adds to the overall image and doesn't take away or distract the viewer, if you don't want them...use whatever means to block your reflective surface with paper, posterboard...I have used a plate before, even a sheet will work. The color seems a little flat too. This may have been the look you were going for, but the colors of the photograph blend together, would have made more of a statement if something had POP to it. Your white balance is off some, but sometimes I do this on purpose and you may have to for a certain look. Just wanted to let you know that I noticed it. Good luck in future challenges.

I loved this! It was so different. The colors are so energetic and vibrant. I really like how this is composed. There is something visually exciting going on throughout the picture, but it isn't too busy. The name or word on one of the vases probably should have been removed, but you were probably so occupied with trying not to get hot spots that you didn't even notice, or maybe you wanted to keep it there. The one thing that I notice is that the picture seems a little too dark. This could be my monitor though. Great picture...congrats.

Very nice!!! Love the blue..what a great touch. The fork and knife are reflective and shiny with no hot spots...another plus. I like this image very much. Should have scored higher IMO. I liked the way you cropped it as well....it leads your eye from one corner to the other nicely. Great job!!

Your title is very cute. I like it a lot. I like the shadows under the spoon, they are very sharp. I think that this image would have done much better in the challenge if you had used something to diffuse your light source. The glares are very distracting on the spoon. The spoon should be shiny but with no flaws or smudges present. It is very hard to accomplish this when photographing such a reflective subject. If you notice, your spoon is only in focus in the middle. With the spoon being the only item in the photo, it would have been better if the entire part visible would have been in focus.

Interesting choice for the challenge. It is different from anything else and I think that is a plus. I always love to see something orginal other than predictable.

Quality of Photo: Not sure what the orginal looked like but your dodge and burning strokes are visible on my computer. To me that is a big no-no. Dodging can be a great tool, but you DON'T want viewers to be able to tell you used it by seeing the stroke marks. The photo would have been better with more focus on the main subject..forks. The yellow light coming from the vase looks oversaturated.

Appeal: Photos are not loved by everyone. You will find some viewers to love your work and some that do not see your vision. I find this photo very distracting. There is so much going on, I don't even know where to look first. The red lazor light lines are just everywhere, maybe if they were only shooting out of the vase, it would have been better. The yellow light coming from the vase is a great idea...I feel that it is just too bright. Not sure why you used the foil....really doesn't add to the image, IMO.

Challenge: You met the challenge, not only with something orginal but with a lot of creativity. Overall, I think this is a great idea using the lights to add interest, I just would have experiemented with different looks to get a more appealing photograph....something that looks a little more put together and organized.

I hope this was helpful and isn't too harsh. I try to be honest about what I see. I am by no means perfect or claim to be...I have come up with some images 10 times worse than this. Just look at my portfolio.
Good luck in future challenges.
