A Celebration of Freedomby NodeComment: ** Greetings from the Critique Club **
The planes are a bit too far away - seems like at that distance you would need a stronger telephoto lens to really catch the detail of the planes, and thus increase interest. Being this far away leaves to much empty space.
Compositionally - I would have liked to see the last plane while it was still at the top, or just coming off the top of it's loop to give the feeling it was breaking free of the formation - thus being independent.
Sky color is well captured, as are the smoke trails from the planes.

Open Waterby JeremyFleuryComment: ** Greetings from the Critique Club **
What a sweet shot of a beautiful young child free from the restrictions of mom and dad. This truly is independence - learning to be on your own in just one more way. The composition is very good - would not change a thing as far as that.
The color of the child's skin is not quite right due to the blue water casting upon it. It's hard to change this under basic editing - not sure if playing around with the hue a tad might have helped or not.
Being that this is a child of a friend and you'll most likely be making a print for her, I would suggest doing some selective color correction outside of the challenge just for her. I think you have done a wonderful job as far as basic editing will allow.
Keep up the good shots

My tools were my handsby Manolo NavarroComment: The head/hair along the right side distracts from the hands. I would have cropped tighter, or had the person move their head off to the side a bit more. I like the soft focus here - it works well. |

Police Officerby cpickettComment: there is a very distracting line artifact in the upper central portion of your image.
The focus througout is not very sharp. The glare off the hand gun is also a bit strong.
On the plus side - you met the challenge without a doubt. |

Pickleby CorySmithComment: *** Welcome from the Critique Club ***
What a wonderful photo! Great action shot and shows creativity. Anyone can take a picture of a ball being tossed, or a bat being swung, but you went beyond that and captured the emotion of a "pickle". The clarity of all the players faces and actions are well demonstrated. Colors are vivid, with all areas looking properly exposed. I really like the composition. You have all the involved players, both directly and indirectly in the shot - and kept the image as a whole very well balanced.
Keep up the good shots!
