 My dressage saddle and other equipment used to ride and train horses. Taken on a half-door of the barn, backlit, cropped, levels, converted to b&w, then duotone, unsharp mask.

Well ... a beautiful, harmonious image that doesn't scare me at all! (A nice surprise) You're right about the light; it's like a quiet musical counterpoint to the dramatic chords below. Sort of right hand and left hand. The diagonal thing is a master compositional touch & I'm surprised no-one has commented on it (alas I cannot identify dressage training equipment - I suppose it's not really called the "thing", unless it's by the horse).

Couldn't resist taking the time to look at this. It is a lovely picture and you have captured the 'tools' very nicely. Could almost be a saddlers advert. Good luck.

I like the soft focus and use of the grayed sepia. The background is a bit overexposed, but you might be able to work on that if you could spot edit.

8 - Met the Challenge. Not sure if these belong to a real horse trainer or not but either way it fits the challenge. The shot is very nice and clean. I like the b/w. Criticism; Maybe just sharper, a touch more 'contrast', not sure. The background works well and the 'scene' is just 'mellow'. I just noticed you cut off the tips of the straps with your frame, so maybe it might have been best to leave that off. Not sure how this would have worked in color (given the seemingly 'shrubby' background), but as I said, I do like it in b/w. Nice lighting at the top of the 'tools'.

excellent choice of trade. Are you a dressage trainer/ rider? Only suggestion I have is maybe try different lighting on the saddle. Otherwise I really like the photo.

I find the window distracting - would have been beter against the wall of a stall perhaps.
