Thanks you soooo very much for the encouraging words. I was, and still am, on cloud 9 after this challenge. Quoting Ms. Sally Fields, "You like me...you really like me." :)
* * * * *
I had envisioned the photo and was determined to make it work and tried a couple of different ways to light the egg but regardless of what I did, it seemed futile since the light just wasn't passing through it very well. After several different attempts, I finally decided to drain the egg, through a dime-size hole on the back and then let the egg dry. I was burning a scented candle at the time and realized that I could use the melted wax as the yolk, which formed the yellow circular glow inside the egg. I then purposely burned more of the candle, which made a dark melted wax, poured that into the dried up "yolk" and that formed the shape which simulated the fetus or whatever you want to call the "shape" that's inside the egg. To get the egg to glow, I placed a pen light under the egg and between my hands.

I took several photos, playing with the exposure etc., until I found the right combo. Aside from making the photo the correct dimensions for the challenge, I didn't really do any editing since I don't know how to use photoshop...I was hoping to put a border on it, but since I didn't have the time to figure it out, I just submitted the photo (just barely made it on time).

If anyone has any suggestions as far as good books on learning adobe photoshop elements 3 (never used any photo editing stuff before) I certainly would appreciate a heads up.

Again, much thanks for your encouragement especially those who posted a comment. Btw, now that I've demystified this photo, how did you think I did it? Would be interested to know your thoughts. :)

I had to look at this photo again. In the back of my mind, I had a feeling that it was a photo taken in the PI...and I knew that there was a story there. I too would have liked to have seen her face.

Nicely done. The one thing that I wish the subject had done (if this photo is staged which I think it is) is direct her gaze towards the flower. I think the subject is smelling the flower and it would make the photo more authentic if her gaze were directed towards it. 7

I think this is beautiful...especially how the rest of the flower/plant fades in the background but looks almost like it's glowing. Would have scored it higher but the bottom right corner of the photo where the other branch appears detracts from the overall focus. I'd love to see this without that second branch. Good luck to you.

Every time I see this photo, I laugh. Not because of the actual photo itself, but because of the title. To see a rough and tough sport such as rugby and these huge dirty guys tackling each other--I think that they're anything but delicate! If it were for humor alone, I would score this a perfect 10!!! Thanks for keeping a sense of humor.

I think this photo has the potential to convey more than what the challenge is about, but I wish it had been taken at a different angle or view. The telephone lines are a bit disctracting and takes away from the story of the subject. Good luck.
