untitledby amjltComment: Just enough background to keep it from being monotonous, a pretty and interesting subject, and an evocative feel. Unfortunately, the flower seems a little out of focus, and I would have cropped the top a little tighter. |

Theory of Relativityby flip89Comment: I hold Minimalism to refer to a single point of focus, and I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be looking at the tree, the airplane, or the dark speck (insect?) here. Also, the water is surreally oversaturated, reminding me more of toilet bowl cleaner than ocean. The tree and waves are also somewhat fuzzy.
If this had been just the dark tree (sharper) against the lighter sky, with a deep blue (but not oversaturated) ocean, I think it would have been a much nicer shot. |

The Dawn of Eveningby SJCarterComment: Elegant, and a nice use of black and white for effect. Unfortunately, I'm holding the topic of Minimalism to mean that there really should be a single, obvious point of focus, and since my eye was drawn first to the plant before I realized you meant the focus to be the moon, I'm docking points accordingly. Also, the noise is odd and irregular, leaving a couple dark specks in the center I *think* are noise, but am not sure, and the edge of the moon is ragged from it as well. |

Did that guy just take my picture?by kelstertxComment: Hah, okay, cute and somewhat funny. The multiple oblique angles add to the effect. Blown highlights behind the squirrel are hard on the eyes and distracting, however. |

When Less is Moreby DianaBComment: Not bad. I could wish for a bit more color on the snail shell to liven it up, but at least the shadow gives some meaning to the the pure-color background. I wish it hadn't been pure white, though, since the result is harsh on the eyes and hard to look at. Next time snail on parchment? |

Jarby DiscraftComment: Pretty and elegant, but I find the lone-item-on-field-of-black to be unimaginative and boring. |

Pasture Timeby popdeepopComment: A somewhat pretty picture, but it has too many potential focal points. Animal? House? Barn? Field? Minimalism should be very simple, with the focal point very obvious. Also, the animal is sufficiently indistinct that I'm not sure what it is. Young horse? |

Just Oneby SammieComment: Very nice. I'm not quite sure what it is (some kind of plant? partially shredded cat-tail with a metal spike in it?), but that's offset a bit by the very nice color contrast and texture of the fibers. |

Water is my homeby barkaComment: The image is fuzzy, there is a halo around the insect, and the water color is sufficiently odd that until checked the title, I thought it might have been some kind of airplane. The bundle of fuzzy dark grass on the left also distracts more than it adds context. |

Treeflowerby amsmythComment: Pretty, and I like the background of stars, but I can't figure out what the leftmost part of the red flower bundle is. It just looks odd. |
