Baby's First Stepsby inspzilComment: What a great photo. This reminds me of one of those photos I saw in the library when I was a kid for motivation or whatever. It meets the challenge to me. Good work and good luck. |

Silhouetteby GraciousComment: Greetings from the Critique Club.
I look at this photo and see a lot of potential. It to me is already a very good photo. But what if you had been able to get in closer and framed only one of the smaller branches and needles. I think the photo may have been more dramatic and wouldn't lose a connection to rhythm. Do you have pine cones to go along with this tree or is it some other tree? Maybe a macro of the surface of the pine cone. There's a lot of rhythm there. I'm not saying you didn't meet the challenge I'm just giving you alternatives on what i think may have been available for you to photograph. I like the framing and the fact you went with a silhouette. That is a nice blue with the clouds giving it a pleasent touch. Again, you have a good photo here that may or not have been better if you had gotten in a little closer. I hope this helps some. I've been having great difficulty writting these lately. Feel free to e-mail me if you have questions. Good luck in future challenges. |

Love under candle lightby jenaromComment: Greetings from the Critique Club.
This is still one of my favorites of the love challenge. I will agree with one of the commenters about the wrinkles in the sheets. It is a bit distracting but I only noticed it when I read the comment so it wasn't that big of a deal. Though it only plays a small role I think the red sheet at the bottom of the photo really helps bring out the red on the bra. Why? because the red on the bra isn't competing with the white sheets as much. I think its balanced. I really can't think of anything else to say except this is a really nice photo. I look forward to seeing some more of your photos in future challenges. |

Next stop: The Gulf.by SharQComment: Forgive me if this is a different photographer but I believe this photo belongs in the Stock Photo challenge. It is much better than the other submission. This photo doesn't reflect despair in my opinion. I do think this a very nice shot. If you had the soldier looking to the right I think it would have been better. There's too much negative space on the right for this guy to be looking forward. This picture would have gotten an 8 in the other challenge but I'm giving it a 5 here. Sorry I don't see despair. |

Stock: Military and Defenceby SharQComment: The soldiers are a bit dark but that's the camo. No action shots? I'd be more inclined to purchase a photo of these guys training than standing. The soldier on the right should really keep an eye on where his weapon is pointed, not very safe. You'll have to forgive me I am a safety NCO for my unit. 6 |

Best Friends in Loveby GraciousComment: Greetings from the Critique Club.
This a photo that met the love challenge very well. The composition is good and the lighting and focus are good too. The only problem I see is some graininess in the photo. Maybe using the despeckle option in PS or the program Neatimage would help remove some of the grain. I think this photo would have been better in B&W. I can't really explain why but I think it would be more dramatic that way. I think this very good photo though. Not much else to add, good work and good luck in future challenges. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions. |

Friendsby myqylComment: Greetings from the Critique Club.
Well this photo finished about where you had predicted it. I think it may have done better with a couple of changes though. Trying to position each stuffed animal to face the camera so you have many faces looking at you might have been a good way of doing this. More vivid colors in the animals, if possible. I don't really have much more to add. All in all I think this was well done photo taken for a very difficult challenge matched with a tough voting crowd. Good luck in future challenges. |
