On the Prowlby ClubJuggleComment: Greetings from the Critique Club Mr. President
And you're not just the President, you're also a member!
Oh wait... wrong club...
Composition - My first impression of this shot is that it is a really tough shoot. I've tried several times to shoot my fish in a much much smaller tank, generally unsuccessfully. The composition of this shot is pretty good and not really yielding too many problems. The colors are very good and the other fish in the water makes it a little more realistic. At least I think it's another fish.
Technical - Sharpness - This is the major problem with this photo. The slow shutter speed would have to have a perfect pan technique to properly portray this killer. It would be a 1 in 10,000 shot if you could get it. Its damn near impossible to ask him to stay still for that long as well. The lighting is actually pretty good in here for the circumstances. I'd expect it to be darker, unless you PS'ed it lighter. The framing is really very good.
Overall - The water looks like it came from a painting. The shark looks a little fake on it, but by the movement of it, I'm sure its real. A very tough shot to do. Its done adequately but not exceptionally. And I think that all boils down to if you could make it sharp enough. You'll have to make another trip to this aquarium and try a few more shots. It'll be worth it when you get one. Good luck and keep shooting. - BoB |

Watertransportby jajoneComment: I really like the boat, the foreground stuff on the right I think takes away too much from the boat. |

Easter's Overby DougPazComment: Greetings from the Critique Club

Composition - Appropriate time of year for this pic. I think if you did this one around Aug. people would think you're nuts. In April, its very good. I think there is just a little too much going on in this pic. I think you're fine with the rabbit and the eggs, but I really don't like it on the grass and the lighting is really flat. I think to add a little more emotive touch this would be a good studio shot with soft lighting and the basic black background. The grass I feel just makes it too busy.
Technical - This is really sharp and well taken. I just don't think the exposure yields the kind of image that it could in less of a natural setting. There is nothing "wrong" at all with this pic, but I think it could be done better.
Overall - Great idea, and well taken, but I think you didn't maximize the potential of this subject by putting it in natural light due to the flatness of the pic. I think there are more fruitful ways to go about this pic to make it more emotive. This is a pic I wanted to do well, but just didn't have that little extra it needed to catch the viewers attention. Good luck in future challenges - Bob |

Composition - Interesting subject, one I never would've thought of but it seems to work pretty well. The framing is good and the lighting works pretty well. The blurred out background is very nicely done. I think you really maximized your subject in terms of composition.
Technical - A little out of focus. I think really that's the only thing that I don't like about this picture is that it isn't as sharp as it could be. Like I said, the lighting and framing are good. The DOF is very good. If it could be just a little sharper, I think it would've done considerably better.
Overall - This is a pretty nice image. I think it needs just a little something for a real eye-catcher to give a definite focal point. A dewdrop or a few drops to catch a little light and draw the attention of the viewers. Overall a pretty good image that just needs a little more sharpness and maybe just a little crop off the top and right and I think you're there. Good job and good luck - Inspzil |

Sunset Trainby 'PongComment: This would be better if the sky wasn't quite so hot. The sun at this point of the day is very hard to photograph. Exposures are difficult because its just so bright. Not poorly done, but could be better |

Beemby mbardeenComment: The colors are a little too funky for me in this pic. The color of the car is pretty good, but the sky is just really strange. It looks purple and pink to me. But good pic of the car. |

The Shear Fun of Transportation!by Harz_JoergComment: A very good stop action shot. I'm not so sure I like the people aware of the camera and hamming it up, but I do think the technique you used to take this pic worked really well. |

Coming and Goingby lizardbethComment: Good clear pic. The framing is a little too tight though. I'd have liked to seen more of both of these trains, esp the one on the right. |
