I have mixed emotions about this picture. The focus and framing are very good. The one thing that sticks in my mind is about how the butterfly is turned so that the wings are not so visible. I thought it was a bee at first. A little better angle to illustrate the wings a little more would've really helped the shot showing more color, clarifying the subject and maybe help the shallow DOF to bring the subject more into focus. Just what I think though - Inspzil

The angle that this shot was taken, if changed could've eliminated a lot of the blurred foreground. It's pretty good though. Personally, I might've gave it a tighter crop to make the hornet look bigger. - Inspzil

There are quite a few issues with this photo that I don't like, so don't take this like I hate the picture, because I don't. first is focus. second is glare, 3rd is other noise, 4th is the colors aren't jumping out, 5th is I could never take this shot and I'm envious because you can, and did. - Good luck, Inspzil

Looks like it's way zoomed, more than its a macro. I'm curious to know if it was done this way out of focus on purpose. I'm just going to assume that it is and assume that you had a dozen cups or so before you shot this, tripodless of course :) Good luck - Inspzil
