Grand Openingby ClubJuggleComment: This photo needs something, like a thousand people on the outside waiting to get in. As far as grand openings go, this looks more like a regular day. The people being there would make it a whole lot more newspaper worthy - Inspzil |

More Layoffs Expectedby ppritcheComment: I look at all the lonely people. Eleanor Rigsby, picks up the rice at a church where a wedding has been, lives in a dream..... Strange coincidence with the 4th name on the list - Inspzil |

North Hatley Fogby mariomelComment: Great colors. Love the reflex. Not sure how journalistic this is, but it is a cool photo. Lighting and exposure are great. I don't know if I'd have framed this quite like this though. Good shot - Inspzil |

Lonesome Urban Cowboyby 'PongComment: This whole pic looks a bit fuzzy. I'm not exactly sure what this pic would be representing if put in the paper. I would've concentrating on the demolition work being done on the site and left this guy right out of the pic. I guess I'm not seeing his significance in this picture and if he is significant, then focus on him as the prominent subject - Just my thoughts - Inspzil |

Christmas Season is Upon Us ( small town news)by SonifoComment: The angle of this shot is not helping the right deer at all. Taken from a lower perspective would've helped show the deer better as well as given this a childs perspective on the shot. The way the lighting is on the snow is great though. I love the way it looks like its glowing. Pic is well framed too with nice use of negative space. |

Heavy Liftingby jbolingComment: This has potential, but I don't think like this I would expect to see it in the paper. Without the sun so bright and a little more focused on the helicopter, it might make it but with the bright sun like this, without a more dynamic backdrop, it would be on the cutting room floor. - Inspzil |

Investigating a Fireby jdincolspringsComment: I've haven't critiqued a photo all night, so you get to be the lucky one (which is good). The 2 things I like about this photo is the angle from which it was taken and the incredible DOF. This is a remarkably well taken photo. The lighting is great as far as these conditions go. I like the way the bucket on the aerial looks detached from the boom. I can see the faint skeleton of the boom, but humor me here. I wish the fire engine were a little better lit on the near side. This photo isn't blowing me away, but was interesting enough for me to take a closer look. Good luck! - Inspzil |

Overexposing Underexposureby jimmythefishComment: Those are really cool inlays. Definitely hi key. I like the way you can't see the person who is playing this guitar except his arms. I like the perspective on this pic to as far as the angle it was taken. It might not be a front page type shot, but I could see this pic on a page in the entertainment section or the weekend section. Good luck, Inspzil |
