Another Dragonflyby Pug-HComment: Beautiful colors and amazing DOF on body. DOF is a little off on far legs, wings, and eyes. Highlight glare on eyes is a little distracting and bright spot in upper left, but otherwise great background. Very nice capture. 7 |

Oh No Not Another Bug, Sorry!by hyperfocalComment: Boy, this is an unusual looking bug (a cicada perhaps?). Nice DOF on parts of the bug, but other parts the lack of DOF is a distraction. Nice lighting, but odd color background (doesn't look natural). All in all, good shot though - nice work. 6 |

Mossby rsaulyteComment: Very unique and cool photo! LOVE the colors and the DOF on the foremost blossoms. The lack of DOF in the foreground is a little distracting to me, but it's hard to count off much. Beautiful composition and very neat subject matter. 7 |

Spotted!by NitinComment: Cool shot and a cool bug. I think I would have scored this higher if the bug was facing the camera more and better DOF. I like the flower and dewdrop, but I also think there are some hot spots there - lighting a bit harsh. Still, overall a very nice image. Good job! 6 |

Fly in the flowersby arpitaComment: Nicely composed shot. I think the lighting is a little bright, causing some hot spots. Also, I'd like to see a little better DOF on the wings, front legs, & tail. Still, hard to count off much - it's a very nice shot! 7 |

protector of the hiveby hopperComment: Great DOF on the face and foreground body parts. I'd like to see a little more DOF on some of the bee's body parts a little further back (not all the way, just more than is currently shown). Interesting thing he's sitting/standing on with the paint? peeling - kinda cool. Couple of hot spots on the head, but I'm really splitting hairs here. It's a very good shot. 7 |

Hairy Little Buggerby Judith PolakoffComment: Great DOF on the fly. The lighting is a little odd to me though - seems like maybe too much highlight? I would probably have cropped it a little differently, to make the fly not so dead-center, but it's still a great shot. I think maybe the lighting thing has to do with the odd green color of the background - it doesn't look natural. Anyway - enough of my babbling, still a very strong entry. 7 |

Fishin' Holeby glad2badadComment: Great idea and shot. The poor DOF really detracts from the image though (IMHO). 4 |

Circle Of Despairby SondaComment: Beautiful pose and idea that meets the challenge well. IMHO, however, the white background really washes out the pale skin (possibly correctable with different lighting too). It really is a lovely shot, I just think it's a little overblown on the highlights/white/light areas. 6 |

Agniby aznymComment: Love the colors and I think it meets the challenge, but it looks really overprocessed (which detracts from the overall appeal of the image). 4 |
