You are such an accomplished photographer, Franziska, that any advice on your Mom's picture will be superfluous. Like you, I submitted a photo which was not originally intended to be a portrait, although it did rather well.
My wife, at one time the general manager of the Elizabeth Arden salon in San Francisco, sends her compliments on your mother's hairdo. Very stylish, and looks great.
