As the sun rises in the fogby fstopopenComment: This is an amazing shot! You started with two completely unremarkable trees and some rather normal grass, and with a rather major miracle of lighting ended up with a very extraordinary composition in green and gold that is at once completely natural and highly abstract. |

Not Quite Ready to Face the Worldby RebeccaComment: I love it! The glamor girl on the cup, the face cream, the reflected eyes stairing at us plaintivlely through the mirror, and the shroud of face cream make this quite interesting. |

Clearing Storm, Wychmere Harborby Bear_MusicComment: High pixel unsharp mask appears to have been used here and the unnatural cast of shadow it makes around bright spots in clouds I find distracting. From the trees on downwards, it is a nice shot: I am especially fond of the grass ad the wooden pier as lit by the warm morning light. |

Cold Feetby ImagineerComment: Socks and spiders .. I love the texture of the webs and the misty bqckground I wish that infernal tree were not plopped right smack-dab in the middle. |

Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay...by jadComment: The body language of these youths is very distinctive. The journalistic style makes one imagine one knows a lot about them. The composition is simple, but interesting; and while the background is slightly cluttered it adds interest without being too distracting. I thought this deserved to be in the top ten.
I think this photo was rated much too low by many voters because they construed the challange in an unnecessarily narrow sense. I suppose it also suffered beacuse small pictures need to be simple and have a single point of interest due to the nature of the medium. |

Seclusionby whiteroomComment: The mystery is subtle, but it is definitely present Some time long ago some careful architect designed and crafted those elaborate panels and the other rich details. But today the windows are falling out and the frames are cracking. The building is a moldering shadow of its once glorious self: forcing us to ask "What became of it?" I like it; thanks for entering it. |
