Comment:
I would find this image much better if the snowboarders were invisible and if the highlights in the snow at the top of the hill were not blown.

I happen to find cottage cheese to be among the least photogenic of materials for reasons that should not be too difficult to understand.

Insomnia: Watching the clock

Is it possible to list all the bad things about this photo? The graininess, the out of focus, the camera motion, the unpleasant color palette, and so on. Yet every one of these flaws seems to enhance the photo. Why is this? It's a strong concept, and a strong composition. And the flaws draw us instantly into the uncomfortable world of insomnia.

Fishing at Bosphorus

The expression on this man's face is wonderful. I like the way the colors of the sea match his jacket and the colors of the blurred buildings match his skin. And I like the short depth of field. It's a shame the two men behind him are in this position. They would be slightly less distracting, perhaps, if the fishing pole were not behind the subject's head.

When I could not see the out-of-focus bird food I really liked the photo; but I found the food distracting, sorry.
