I'm not sure I get the reference in the title. The texture is interesting, but the image fails to inspire any emotional response. Technically, I can't find fault except perhaps an ever so slightly too narrow DoF, but that's just nit-picking.

I have no idea how to critique astrophotography. It's like trying to find fault with the universe itself, a futile endeavor indeed. As an abstract, however... The centered composition with so much negative space diminishes the impact of the central subject. It almost feels too clinical, too sterile. A closer crop, or off center comp, would do a lot here.

Thank you for not making me grab my periodic table for the 30th time! I should know it by heart by now :) Excellent shot! Technically perfect, great concept, wonderful color. The only nit pick would be the shadow on the lower left. Great job!

This is a very well executed shot. I can't really find any technical faults, however, it just doesn't grab me in any sort of emotional way. I get it, it just doesn't move me. I wish I could offer more.

Ok, upon first glance, my immediate reaction was oh, no ... not another over-contrived shot. But then I looked again. I absolutely love the lighting in this shot! The arrangement is pleasing, in a geometrical sense, but the straight bits (nails?) add little in my opinion. The background has the perfect color and texure for this shot. Well done and good luck.

Simple, elegant, pure, innocent (or is it). The familiar subject is dragged kicking and screaming to a dangerous new level by dark brooding colors and a bold, even violent, composition. ;)
