Neglected to congratulate you on your top-10 placement. It's a beautiful capture of the element Hydrogen. Very well done. |

Being an astrobuff and physics major, I can really appreciate this photo. You don't get more basic than Hydrogen in stellar nurseries.
I love how you can see so much detail in both the Orion Nebula and the Running Man nebula. Great colors! |

I think we have some ionized sulfur and oxygen in there as well. I wonder how many people are going to assume this shot was from me? Nice to see another AP on here... |

I have no idea how to critique astrophotography. It's like trying to find fault with the universe itself, a futile endeavor indeed. As an abstract, however... The centered composition with so much negative space diminishes the impact of the central subject. It almost feels too clinical, too sterile. A closer crop, or off center comp, would do a lot here. |

Would like it even more if the colored bits were a little more off-center. Cool shot. |

What are using to take these types of pictures? I have always wanted to take pictures like this; awesome shot! Good luck! |

Cool man an astrophoto! Looks like your transparency wasn't that great (or you had dew on your lens), but kudos for entering this in. Looking at this challenge I probably would've done an H-alpha shot of the sun. My guess is you won't get many high votes with this one. |

Too bad everything is centered but colors are good. I would be careful submitting these types of images to often though as they quickly become boring (at least to me) |

hmmmm... my guess is that cloud/nebula has many different elements rather than just one, and we are only guessing that any of them are elements we even know. lol. doesn't meet the challenge for me. cool shot though. |
