No one knows what Einsteinium looks like, but it is radioactive. This is a representation of the element.
Nobelium Symbol: No
Nobelium Atomic Number: 102
Nobelium Atomic Weight: (254)
The metallic transuranic element belongs to the actinoids. Seven known isotopes exist, the most stable being No-254 with a half-life of 255 seconds. First identified with certainty by Albert Ghiorso and Glenn T. Seaborg in 1966.

I was happy that some of you "got it".
Shakespeare's Hamlet when Hamlet, upon seeing Yorick's skull, says "Alas poor Yorick."
Used the skull to represent radioactive elements, such as Nobelium.
The rock is actually a light volcanic one known as scoria. Here in NM, we have lots of them :)

hahaha - very funny - points for making me laugh!

I'm not sure I get the reference in the title. The texture is interesting, but the image fails to inspire any emotional response. Technically, I can't find fault except perhaps an ever so slightly too narrow DoF, but that's just nit-picking.

I like the Hamlet allusion. Intelligence is always a winner even if the image is a force for this challenge. 5

Another image of a rock... the back lighting looks OK but other than it is just not interesting or pleasing.

Composition is nice, interesting subject but, something is lacking. Just don't know what?
11/11/2008 02:38:28 PM
what does the title mean? it's just a picture of a rock... am I wrong?

Lighting is wrong, too strong, you either have some lens flare or a large bokeh circle in the back.
