Wonderful use of light and I love the contrast of the black background. There's a tiny visible smudge in the lower right quadrant, but I was staring for a while before I saw it. Very nice. bumping up.

The natural lines are fantastic. Colors are excellent. This fits the challenge quite well as a serious study. Good job. bumping up.

Good idea and well laid out (if a little creepy). But I'd like to see a bit more light on the knife. It's almost too dark.

Interesting capture. I wish you could have gotten the spider in better focus. Still a lovely image.

Your dsaturation is a little yellow/green and the contrast is high, causing some detail to be bown out. This is a nice pose and seemingly well though out. Just needs a little more post-processing

Nice image but a little small. I like the framing of the animal within the fence.

Came here via your post. This might have done better than the one submitted, but then the one submitted should have done better, so who knows.. This is a very pretty pose and her expression with the slight tilt of her head and the hair is her face hints at the beginning of a question. This pic is a little brighter than the other, and as such, while more cheerful, also shows the wrinkle in your backdrop. I still like that color though. All around a very good portrait.

Given my own portrait skills, feel free to take a large grain of salt here, but I'll comment anyway. I've read the critique club's thoughts - bad idea to do first, sorry, and I see what he's talking about. But that's the technical criticism. And when I just look at the picture, I see a lovely woman in a very nice shot. I very much like the background color, and don't see it blending with the dress. The set up was good, the make up is not over done, and her hair is beautiful. We all have things to learn here. But you're doing quite well. The eighteen people who scored this below a four were either in a hurry, or need to relax and just enjoy photography a little more.
