And that's how you take pictures of flowers! Very nice. Bold color with the dark background contrast. The blossom look like a lantern:)

Intereseting shot. Although it's very evident that the old building is surrounded by newer, taller, shinier ones, my eye is drawn to the bendy effect of the new buildings. Distracting from the point I guess.

Humor and "old and new"! Great shot. She looks like she's debating on whether to break down and use that consarned newfangled push mowin' machine or not:)

It was hard to make out the womans hands at first, so "old and new" isn't the first thing that comes to mind when I look at this one, but babys are such scene stealers I had to like it:)

Wild lighting situation! I like the picture, but I don't get the "old and new" of it.

Without the title, I wouldn't have gotten the "old and new" of this picture. Interesting photo though.

New snow on an old mountain maybe. But did you realize that in your picture you have an old mountain and a new mountain? The old one , of course is in the foreground formed low and flattened thru time. The new being the taller, young, craggy mount the mid ground, just behind the old one. Great shot. What if you worked on the lightness a bit, so the foreground is visible? I'm curious to know what's there:)

I love pictures showing fragile life springing up thru the harshest covers mother nature can supply. So, one it's a good picture and two, it's old and new. Sounds complete to me:)

Several people come up with the same idea. Some take a little further with just a little more composition work, as you have done here. Yours was one of the few that wasn't just a couple of cameras in the same picture.

Perfect example of old and new. And even though the two items are very different in appearance, they seem to look quite comfortable together in this composition. Several similar photos to this were submitted but these items actually look very good together, whereas some of them were just a book and a palm pilot in the same picture
