Love your work Nuzzer. This is one of my favourite images of the challenge... one of many excellent images... I've already voted and now commenting... only realised this was a Nuzzer thanks to saphire faving my entry, and me having a look at her previous fav's and seeing your Mystic River entry amongst them. Anyway... what is it I like... love the composition and the use of duotone... subtle but effective... and love that there's more detail in the reflection than at the top.

Great animal portrait. Nice and sharp... colours are perfect. Great job.

Now... please bear with me... I'm revisiting a little comment experiment I conducted in the 2009-03 Free Study... something like K10DGuy's comments, but with a twist... the twist being, the story will move from one photo to another within the challenge... also, I don't select just a few photos I start at the first and end on the last as determined by DPC random order assigned to me, with a single sentence for each photo... should be interesting... and you're photo is 4th in the series

The wildlife that survived the storm looked on as the habitat of man battled to survive natures fury.

Nice detail and colour, but the centred composition just doesn't give the image any umph (imho).

The animals on land and in the air and in the seas and ocean had all been waiting patiently for this moment to arrive.

Nice colour and composition... I find the red background a bit overpowering though.

The plants and flowers were the first things to return to the area after the devistation... they're always first.

Great capture. Composition is good, but not great. I know it's easy to say but might have been impossible to do at the time, but had you got behind the firefighters, and had them as forground features, this might have rocked my world. What might have been possible would be to darken the dude in the reflectors in the background on the left... very distracting.

What the waves hadn't destroyed during the storm, were destroyed by the fires that followed.

Nice composition and colour. I like that you've captured some people in the image... gives is some perspective and some story.

Nice colours can clouds... I love a nice cloudscape... this would have benefited from something more than tree tops in the foreground... hard to make a cloudscape rock just with clouds, no matter how great the clouds... not impossible, but not easy.

Great detail and colour. Might have gone with a tighter crop on this myself, perhaps to get away from the centred composition. Love the eyes... they really pop out.
