tylerby tommccabeComment: I agree with focus. This challenge produced a lot of really lame results. There are a lot of great pictures scattered throughout that should have been closer to the top, and a lot of lame pictures that should be closer to the bottom. Great shot, Tom. |

Shedding of Innocent Blood (God Help Them!)by GraciousComment: well done shot, but the subject matter doesn't do much for me. without the title, it makes very little sense. (and even with the title, the picture does't really seem to say much.) technically and compositionally, nicely done. |

My New Neighborhoodby GuillermoComment: i think this violates the spirit of the challenge. this clearly has children in it, whereas the challenge specifically stated not to. as a photo, it's ok. good positioning, but it's cluttered and the light is harsh (flash). |

Young Life Cut Shortby normwComment: nicely framed and good light. not sure this says anything about childhood, though. the tombstone doesn't illustrate anything about this childs childhood except the fact that it was cut short. a good photo on its own, but not great for the challenge. |

fear of the Supernaturalby sanandanComment: definitely a stretch for the "childhood" theme, but a nicely done photo nonetheless. my only suggestion would be not to center the subject so much, but rather more it off to one side a bit (in this case, the right side to make it look like she figure is looking into the photo instead of out of it.) |

Flying Paper Planes From Grandpa's Roofby amonteforteComment: i really don't understand the reflection in the airplane. did you make it out of metal? this is a nice shot, but the plane just seems stuck there and lifeless. a better angle would have helped, maybe from below the plane looking up from behind it. |

What Little Girls are Made Of...by tee tahComment: couldn't you figure out a way to photogragh "everything nice"? good shot. the lighting is a bit uneven, but the setup and composition is well done. |

Yes, sir!by stephanComment: subject matter aside, this is a great shot. i love the negative space and the curves and shadows of the belt. the only thing i might change is to crop it so that the belt is a little bit further from the bottom edge. it looks a little close and too crammed into the corner. in fact, the whole belt might look better moved up and in more so that it more closely lied on the thirds. nicely done, overall. |
