On the Danubeby Bruce_the_RobertComment: Really interesting image... the way the sky and the water are virtually a blank canvas interrupted by the two lines of trees along the shore thrusting into the centre of the frame... it's very interesting. |

Nothing lasts, nothing is finished, and nothing is perfect.by Rino63Comment: I like this. The shapes, textures, colours and composition work well. The subject is intriguing, clearly man-made but not sure entirely what it is - perhaps a segment of an old buoy or fishing boat rope that has washed ashore. That fits well with the description of wabi-sabi which I think is missing in many entries. |

... simplicity revisited ...by AlainComment: Minimalism at it's best. A fabulous high-key image with such very simple lines - both the curve of the bump and the sweeping line below are integral to the composition. Very zen. |

Faithful Companionby 1m1AComment: Wow, what an idiosynchratic item and this is a great portrait of it. I really love your lighting and choice of shallow DOF which have combined to work their magic on the strings and the little bokeh circles of reflected light. The colours and textures of the paintwork are beautifully presented. |

First Frostby e301Comment: The texture of the frost has lifted this everyday detail into something so beautiful. Your composition is just perfect too. Beautiful, beautiful image. |

Burnerby saintkristopherComment: That single, rusted, fire-ravaged nail in the charcoaled wood is just the perfect focal point. I love the way that there is so much more beauty in the colours and textures and shapes of the burned item than there would ever have been in the item when fresh and new! |

hatsu yukiby colorcarnivalComment: How intriguing that this brown, dried and snow-covered flower/bulb shoots towards us from a green and living stem with other growing bulbs and a green background behind. So interesting. |

Shadowed Shovelby MelethiaComment: Wonderful textures and colours in the worn surface and I like it against the other texture of the wall/ground. The shadow is good too. |

3 metersby tateComment: What lovely wearing and staining and textures and shapes and lines in such functional and "ugly" objects. Truly fits into the wabi-sabi of the description, which many seem to have ignored. |
