Can't 'ear you.by PedroComment: What an absolutely marvellous portrait. Reminiscent of images from the dawn of the photographic era yet still utterly appealing today. I like the high contrast, the harsh lighting, the composition, the background and, of course, the model and his pose and expression. 10

Boundby jenesisComment: Beautiful study of a small detail supported by well considered desaturation and toning. Also a nice use of light and shadow to communicate shape, texture and setting. 8 |

Chemistryby AleciaComment: Highly sensuous image. Excellent use of shadow to give a less explicit and more dreamy ambience to the image. The man's face feels much too tightly cropped into the corner of the frame - would prefer more space below. 8 |

winter web by nordicComment: Beautiful abstract. Like strings of jewels. Nice choice of blue colour cast. Nice use of shallow DOF. 8 |

The Stalkerby aznymComment: I liked this very much when I first saw it during a thread on impressionism and like it still. It conveys absolutely a sense of the moment, a sense of the sound, smell and feel of that wet rain and the motivation of that rushed individual racing along the street. Composition works well. Strong lighting is well used. 8 |

Split Endsby geewhyComment: Beautiful use of lighting to make these hairs into such a strong visual element. The graduated background works well, especially in the way that the main division between dark and light echoes the position of the barbed wire. Composition nie though feels a touch tight on the left. 8 |

"The Kiss"by bongoComment: A masterful image that conveys such a huge amount in such a minimal way. It really taps into that shared western cultural history of romantic black and white films and also speaks to us of our fond memories of dancing with loved ones. A superbly simply yet affective image. 8 |

Ice Cyclesby poeticphotoComment: Absolutely stunning study of an aspect of nature that most of us pass by without noticing! |
