North Fork Mountain...?by gsalComment: One of my 9s, this is a fabulous picture. I really love the composition, the low perspective, the use of the sculpture to frame the mountain behind and oh! that golden light that falls upon it! So wonderful a focal point amidst the dark shapes of the foreground and the blues and whites of the sky. Really beautifully done! |

Geléeby Dax-Comment: Just wanted to let you know that this is one of only two 10s that I gave in the challenge. It's an absolutely beautiful image and I just love the way you have used light, shadow and colour to create such a wonderful abstract piece of art. The texture of the metal prongs against the soft blurred colours is just fabulous. Thank you for sharing this with us! |

"it's like you brought a spoon to a knife fight" - anonymousby JPRComment: One of my two 10s in this challenge; apologies for not commenting during the voting period. Wonderful immediacy and vibrancy to the image, all the more surprising given the toned black and white treatment (which I really like, btw). The eye contact is electrifying! Great grittiness and texture too. A real work of art. |

Falling Spoon ..by samanwarComment: Didn't have time to comment during voting but thought I'd pop back and let you know that this was one of my top entries - I gave it a 9. I really like the contrast between the fine and precise detail of the foreground object and the loose, more abstract nature of the background. The DOF works well to blur that background and exaggerate that difference. I like too the way that the background splits between dark and light. Black and white works really well too. |

bowl in sinkby ZenjohnComment: I am so surprised at how poorly this entry did given that it was one of my very favourites. I gave it a 9, and I'm sorry I didn't have time to comment on it during the voting period.
It's a lovely study of an everyday chore (the dreaded washing up) made into art. I think you've achieved a lovely composition with the spoon handle positioned just so and some great framing using the shadow of the sides of the sink. I really like the black and white high contrast presentation. I like the grittiness of the textures.
I am sorry this didn't score higher and I hope you appreciate that, for a number of us, this is a wonderful image. |

18/10 by Keith ManiacComment: Sorry I didn't have time to comment during the voting period. I gave this image a 9; it's one of my favourites in the challenge.
I particularly like the use of light, shadow and form. The shapes created by the negative space are just as interesting as those created by the spoons and their reflections.
The manufacturer's stamp on the back of a couple of the handles adds interesting detail amidst all the smooth surfaces. |

Spanish Forkby GermaineComment: Would have scored this higher but there's such a strange line between the edge of the tree trunk and the background - some strange processing I think - that it's drawing my attention away from the fork and the lovely texture of the bark. |

Touchby AndrewTOComment: Nice study of just a small detail of a sculpture. I like how that allows us to focus on texture and weathering and even the marks of the sculpteur's chisel/ tools. Works well. COmposition feels a touch top heavy. |

Electric Ladyby NazgulComment: Wow! That's different! Her body feels too abruptly cropped. I wonder how this would work as a portrait oriented image with more of her body included? |
