Guardian of The Realmby GiorgioComment: What a great surrealist image full of wonderful vibrant colour, rich texture and so quirky too! I can't decide whether the almost centred composition complements the surreal aspect of the landscape or whether a more traditional rule of thirds placement for the foreground match would make it even stronger. Whatever, I do love it! 10 |

The Marvel of a Snowflakeby paul58Comment: I really like the way the shallow DOF has allowed the foreground and background to blur into a yin yang and into this is thrust the beauty of the snowflake detail. Perfect composition . 10! |

Stand Tallby seriocomicComment: This is wonderful in it's simplicity. Lovely colours, composition and textures. 10 |

On handby ergoComment: I absolutely love this - the juxtaposition (sorry, I know that's a pretentious word but I can't think of any other way of saying it) between the texture of the weathered hand and the irridescent sheen and colours of the beetle is fabulous! Composition, crop and background spot on too! Love it! 10! |

.....by TheDruidComment: It took me a while before I realised this reads "Life" not "Zife"! I like the idea but the composition is too centred for my preferences. Colour is good and rich and detail is nice. |

Tea, Anyone?by Commando303Comment: Yes, please! I'll have a nice cup of Tetley - black, no sugar. Probably scoring higher from me because I like the Tetley marketing characters but, although it's undeniably shallow DOF, it's not a particularly high impact use of shallow DOF. 7 |

R E D by gaurawaComment: I really love this! It's incredibly calming and yet exciting because it's kind of exotic. I bet you're dying to spot edit the wee white pixel out but I appreciate you can't do that within basic editing rules and it's not a big deal. 10! |

One Of A Kind Kidby gsalComment: A beautiful portrait, perfect composition and lovely cropping but just doesn't seem well suited to this challenge in my opinion. |

Unicornsby eaglebeckComment: Would score higher if there weren't such offputting halos around the outline of the foreground unicorn face - I'm guessing this is due to severe oversharpening. Otherwise, nice composition, interesting bokeh, nice shallow DOF. |

from here to eternityby ursulaComment: Just wanted to let you know that this was one of my 9s during voting, but I didn't have time to leave a comment. What a skill to suggest such romance and intimacy using nothing more than two forks and a piece of muslin! I really like the softness you have achieved here too. Just beautiful! |
