Glad to be Backby DrewLongComment: Very fine, thoughtful composition. I applaud the deft use of so few elements to suggest a meaning to the viewer, especially as you have not told the whole story, but have left something to the viewer's imagination. So good to see a mood established without the use of brutal, Wagnerian post-processing. 9. |

Winters gentle pullby notesinstonesComment: Lovely photograph, and an absolutely beautiful title (a great example to those poor, dull souls who say "the title is not important"). I'm no expert, but the tonal control in this photograph strikes me as masterful. And the really great thing is that the meaning of the photograph is accessible, even without the title. 9. |

Wintergardenby bpickardComment: Beautiful, moody tribute to the spirit of a formal garden, with the added whimsy of the tools and wheelbarrow. Like catching a diva backstage in her underwear. 9. |

Red for STOP!by sissiComment: Terrific forms and textures, as well as the great colour. Love the processing, too. Such an interesting image made from just a few well chosen and well positioned elements. 8. |

The Crow in The Cemeteryby Shan2112Comment: Lots of lovely allegorical possibilities here. I do like the processing with the blue/black tone. Great composition/opportunism, but even better you knew what you were seeing and exactly how to capture and present it. 8 |

Yalata Beachby John WhiteComment: Love the rods conforming to the angles of the sun's rays. This has to be John White ... not just because of the location, but also because of the meticulous composition and the restraint in processing. Most people would have screwed this up with heavy-handed processing, and you didn't. Beautiful shot of one of the world's great pastimes; beach fishing. 9. |

Dateby LevTComment: She gets no water, and the hard chair as well. Married, no question. Or possibly academic colleagues.
Delightful, whimsical photograph. |

Road K ing T emporary { Design }by messerschmittComment: Another of your beautiful anthropomorphic cars, Wil. This was the greatest era of car design. The cars in the 50's were wonderful caricatures of us, rather than today's cars which are copies of what ... amoebas? |

wintry walkby xtineComment: Hmmm ... I've looked again. Actually, more than once. I regret my 8; this was a 10. There's something enduring about it. It will still look this good when at least 450 of the shots that finished higher are mercifully forgotten. |
