You can't blame some people for thinking this. Presumably they thought the photograph was about the building, while you knew that it was about the meaning of the building. You won, of course.

I voted in this challenge but forgot to comment later. This was my top pick.
The memorial rising above a great gulf of darkness was a perfect tribute to our ANZACs and I looked at it for a very long time. Thoughts turned to the most beautiful tribute to the original ANZACs, by Mustafa Kemal:

Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives...
You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country.
Therefore rest in peace.
There is no difference between the Johnnies and Mehmets to us
where they lie side by side here in this country of ours.
You, the mothers, who sent their sons from faraway countries wipe away your tears;
Your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace.
After having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well.
- Kemal Atatürk

Thank you Enzo, for a beautiful and moving photograph.

That is very nice indeed, R. Beautifully framed moment. A 'feel good' picture that also has great depth. Your intuition is showing.

I still like all the faults – including the absent apostrophe which I'd like to think was inevitable.

Yep, it's that. Very fine work Lev. When someone makes me deeply admire an example of a type of photography that's not really to my taste at all, I know that I am looking at something special. Thanks.

It's a schooner, I think. 'Course where I grew up a 'schooner' is also a quite large draught beer so I'm a bit biased. This is a very good schooner. Never had a bad one though.
