Mantisby 2mccsComment: Close, but no cigar. Nice composition, but the image is a little over-exposed around the head of the mantis and not quite sharp enough to pull it off. Best of luck to you. |

Night Visitorby TrynityRoseComment: Cute setup. I wonder if you'll actually fool anybody with that "butterfly"? ;^) The color shades are actually quite nice and this image stands a chance of doing well. The border patrol going to get you tho! Good luck. |

Nebraska Tundraby abroken1Comment: Very nice natural color choice. Works well for the challenge. Compositionally, the image is going to take a hit for having the subject so centered. What's up with the ear tags? Is this from a animal park or something...not that it matters, just curious. Good luck in the challenge. |

Oby shudderbugComment: This is a tough one. I want to say it's too dark, but then the subject is dark so it needs to be. Hmmm. The composition is fine. I wish you could have gotten that back olive in focus with a deeper aperture. Light green olives might have been a better choice? |

Who me?by FlashComment: Adorable shot of this baby bird, but where is the connection to the challenge? I'm not seeing the 'Color on Color' in this. Sorry. Good luck. |

Shadow Harmonyby madcrabberComment: Squirrels and shadows. Hmmm...tried that once. Didn't work out. ;^) I wish you better luck. As far as this image goes, I like your choice of B/W tone and you've gotten very good detail in the face, with the all important "catchlight" in the eye. ;^) |

Quiet Between the Spacesby ralphComment: Interesting. It's a bit difficult to view as the eyes are drawn to two distinctly different places in your image. Feels awkward. |

Appleby JRalstonComment: I like the look you've achieved here. Especially the fade out to white. Not sure about how it fits with Zen. Guess it does. ;^) Anyway, I'm going to have to try something like this. It's nice. Good luck. |

The Lion Lies Down With The Lambby GeneralEComment: I'm missing the connection here I think...and what does the title mean? Is the Lion the evergreen branch? From the thumbnail I thought the blue was moving water (the wrinkles look like water ripples at thumb size). Probably don't have enough negative space (subjects are filling the frame) for the Zen group. Anyway...best of luck in the challenge. |
